CIQP Fundraising

Organized by International Association for Information & Data Quality

This round of direct fundraising is now closed
August has passed us by and with it the target date for our fundraising for the CIQP certification.

Our objective was to give individual practitioners - the people who would be taking the CIQP exam and who we have been developing the CIQP for - a chance to have a direct input into the funding of this certification.

Between the two rounds of fundraising drives we ran (including the "Lwanga Challenge") we have managed to raise US$4153. In the current economic climate that is an achievement we all can be proud of - in particular the people who gave so generously.

What are the next steps?

We are currently in discussions with vendors and other corporates to seek the balance of the funds we require to finish developing and rolling out the CIQP. One of our key assets we have at our disposal are the two remaining industry research reports which have been developed out of the preparatory work for developing the Certification.

We have already published one report in July (our Salary & Job Satisfaction Report) and we will be publishing the remaining reports over the coming months.

If you want to find out more about our sponsorship framework, you can download a copy here

If you want to continue to donate to the IAIDQ to help us develop our services and develop the CIQP, you can do so via the IAIDQ website

Fundraising continuing
May has passed behind us and we are looking forward to the rest of the summer (or winter, if you are south of the Equator) with anticipation.

So far this year we have raised almost US$4000 from individuals, real front-line people, in support of our CIQP efforts.

While an impressive fundraising exercise in itself, it is just a stepping stone to the final amount we need to roll out this certification in 2009.

Thanks to everyone who supported us this far and we look forward to working with you on rolling out the CIQP later this year.

Lighten an Advisor's Wallet
Lwanga Yonke is one of the founders of and Advisors to the IAIDQ.

He is so passionate about the CIQP project that he as offered to match all donations made between the 1st of May and the 9th of May (up to a certain limit).

So. If you want to help lighten Lwanga's wallet and help the CIQP development project, just hit the CHIPIN Button and donate TODAY.

The Fundraising Rolls on!!
On behalf of the IAIDQ I'd like to extend a big thank you to those who donated to our first round of direct fundraising.

In a little over 3 months we raised US$2652 towards the costs involved in finishing the development and roll out of the Certified Information Quality Professional Certification.

That represented 13% of the ambitious US$20,000 target we have for fundraising from the Community in 2009 (that is fundraising from sources other than vendor sponsorship).

In that time, we have also learned a lot from responses you have given to survey questions on the CIQP development blog (http://idqcert.iaidq.org). It is clear that this certification is something that is needed within the profession and would be of value.

This year sees the 5th birthday of the IAIDQ. Why not give us a small present - the gift of sponsorship. Even $10 from you will help make a difference.

Cheers
